Transatlantic University of Medicine and Health Sciences holds a Provisional Licence to Operate as a Private University, granted by the Federal Government of Nigeria on the recommendation of the National Universities Commission. From a purpose-built campus at Umuchukwu in Orumba South, Anambra State, the university trains highly skilled, motivated graduates equipped to drive development and deliver real-world solutions to Africa's most pressing health challenges. Transatlantic University of Medicine and Health Sciences operates under a Provisional Licence to Operate as a Private University (Serial No. 181), issued by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Education (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions) Act, CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. Our medical and health sciences faculties adhere to national and international benchmarks, equipping students with the credentials and competencies required for successful healthcare careers.
Our campus at Umuchukwu spans over 200 hectares and offers a serene, modern learning environment built around a 17-storey academic complex, a functional teaching hospital, and dedicated student accommodation:
A functional teaching hospital adjacent to the academic complex, complete with consultancy offices, wards, laboratories and theatres — where clinical training happens on site.
On the second floor of the academic building, with a dedicated reading area and an e-library for digital research access.
A second-floor laboratory supporting hands-on study of human structure and dissection.
Diagnostic laboratory space within the teaching hospital where students train on the analyses that drive real patient care.
Medical imaging facilities supporting radiography training and diagnostic practice, alongside a dedicated ultrasound laboratory.
Networked workstations supporting computing coursework, data analysis and e-learning across every faculty.
A dedicated building housing the ICT centre and the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, which runs IT freelance skills training.
Separate male and female hostels with study areas, kitchenettes, en-suite facilities and a ground-floor cafeteria.
The university's main gathering space for convocations, lectures and faculty-wide events.
